Recently refurbed back into a proper, yet odd and quirky pub! Great beer, ale, cider and Spirit choices. Now serving proper pizza's with home made Dough. Welcoming to all. Great original features inc a Well, grade listed court room, 1st floor smoking terrace and even a priest hold in the flat above!

Historic pub with plenty of character. Decent selection of quality beers.

It's being redeveloped around the punters so quite interesting. Big screen sports and live music. Fun, bohemian clientele. Don't take your auntie unless she is a 1960's lass.

Best pizza around, great bar staff and the chef is a total legend (really cool and humble guy). A great venue for a night out.

Not really for me...big interesting water pumping machine...is about the most interesting thing....ancient court house above the bar...little terrace on first floor...no parking

Big screen big sofas and haze on tap ..everything you need to watch the footie ..oh apart from a decent football team ..Southampton FC you are a disgrace !!

Was only here for a half pint but I enjoyed it and felt welcomed by the staff. The pub itself is a lovely environment.

Good range of ales, friendly staff but no lighting to see performers on stage and weird layout

Long waiting for food and once I received it, the steak was not fresh and very badly baked it was not possible to eat the abomination

The staff are really friendly and the beer is well-kept. Cosy kind of atmosphere and they occasionally have decent and unusual entertainment.

An unusual, but comfy & friendly pub, with an eclectic mix of art work on the walls, serving great gins, the usual suspects on top shelf & pumps & coffee.

Been a few times, mainly for gigs. Decent place with a fair bit of seating. Never seems too busy. Preferred it when it was a bit scummier, but that's just me!

This pub has just undergone a refurbishment and now a much more comfortable place. There is no change to the bar and the selection of drinks are okay. I haven't checked out the above function rooms since the refurbishment, but I believe these were also done.

Lovely old pub with many interesting features and a good selection of beers. Pizza's are pretty good too and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and live music gives the place a great atmosphere, well worth a little jolly and if you like jazz then Sunday afternoons are for you!

I went here for a pizza today. Since I last went, the place has had a kick of paint (since it has gone under new management) and it looks inviting. The candles in the fireplace was a nice touch. The pizza was really nice and fresh, and the fries that came with it were yummy, too. I also recommend the coffee, as it's premium stuff!!!

Went to Pete Bennett's Karaoke on a weds. Very friendly, felt safe. People from all over the world.

Great place for music, saw a very good, youngosh jazz band there last weekend, but a range of different music, friendly and usually with a decent ale or two available.

Friendly, chilled service. It's warm in winter and there's a fireplace. Free ping-pong available. Decent prices. I don't really need anything else to love this place.

One of my favourite places to drink at and perform in Bristol. Staff are nice and the open jams that used to be on, presented a very caring and supportive enviroment. I have only met nice people every time I have been there, and I have been going there frequently since January. If you get a chance, go and meet the nice people that turn up there. I love this pub!

This is a very enchanting place indeed! It has warmed the weary traveller since the 18th century. It has a very welcoming atmosphere, especially when one of the regular live bands are on show. The layout and architecture is very quirky, putting you right back a couple of hundred years, but in a good way. I love going to the jazz session on Sunday evening and they are serving delicious pizzas & pizzettes.
